Basma Outhman, LSW

Therapist | Trauma-Informed | Culturally Grounded | Holistic Minded

“It is my absolute privilege to be part of your healing journey and to walk beside you as you grow into your fullest, most authentic self.”

With clinical experience supporting both adolescents and adults through anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, and social-emotional challenges, Basma offers a grounded, compassionate presence in the therapy room.

Her therapeutic style is client-centered and holistic—blending traditional psychological frameworks with integrative and culturally attuned healing practices. She believes healing is not just about symptom relief, but about creating lasting emotional well-being, inner clarity, and self-trust.

Basma is known for creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe, seen, and empowered to show up fully as themselves. Her work is rooted in trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and the mind-body connection. She is passionate about guiding clients toward deeper emotional awareness, resilience, and self-compassion.

Basma earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and brings a rich, multicultural perspective to her work as a therapist. Having lived in five different countries and arriving in the United States as a refugee at the age of 14, Basma carries a deeply personal understanding of resilience, identity, and the challenges of navigating change. Her own journey of adaptation and transformation continues to shape her empathy, insight, and unwavering dedication to supporting others through life’s complexities.
